Monday, August 25, 2008 Neighborhood notes: WinchesterBerryville Military news Kenneth H. Moore Jr. has been promoted to the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army. Moore, a civil affairs officer and force development assistant chief of staff, is assigned to the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg at Fayetteville, N.C. He has served in the military for 27 years. He is the son of Kenneth H. Moore Sr. of Radford and Johnnie G. Moore of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. His wife, Pamela, is the daughter of Bill and Joan Propst of Berryville. Moore, a 1981 graduate of Pulaski County High School, received a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in 1985 and a master's from the U.S. Army War College in 2007.
Boy Scout news Daniel Adamski, a member of Boy Scout Troop 34 in Berryville, is seeking donations to complete his Eagle Scout project of installing fitness stations along the walking path at the Clarke County park. Winchester Dental clinic The Dental Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley at 301 N. Cameron St. is scheduling dental services for low-income families.
