New Market to offer living history events
NEW MARKET — The New Market Battlefield State Historical Park is offering two living history programs to close the summer. In observance of the 218th anniversary of Shenandoah County farmer Jacob Bushong's birth, the park will hold a traditional lawn party at the Bushong Farm from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Historical interpreters will portray family members playing 19th-century games and music and preparing food, according to a press release. Cake and ice cream will be available to visitors.
